Second Day: Jefferson Memorial, Arlington Cemetary, Iwo jima- Part Seven

This is the seventh and final post on a series of posts about our family's trip to Washington D.C. To read from the beginning of the story scroll down the page until you see a post entitled Intro Post. The pictures in these posts are not all of my pictures from the weekend. To see all of my pictures click here.

Jefferson Memorial:
The next thing that we saw after the Air and Space Museum was the Jefferson Memorial. From the memorial we could see the Washington Monument and the White House.

Arlington Cemetery:
The next thing that we saw was a the Arlington National Cemetery. When you walk in you just see rows and rows of white tomb stones of people who died fighting for you in war. We just kept walking and came to President Kennedy's grave and the Eternal Flame. Next we walked to the tomb of the unknown soldier and the changing of the guard.

Iwo Jima:
The last thing that we did in Washington D.C. before making our way home was see the Iwo Jima memorial. It was a good finish to our patriotic trip to our nations capital.

That is all for our trip to Washington D.C. trip in 2009. I hope that you enjoyed reading about it and see all of the pictures. I hope that it was not to long. I made a slide show of more pictures put to music that I had every intention of posting here for you to see, but it would not load. Maybe some day I will get it up and then again maybe not! Have a great day!
