camping this weekend!

I am so excited about this coming weekend. We are going camping with my cousins and grandparents. We are going to shawnee state park in PA. I just hope that it dosen't rain because my mother refuses to go tent camping in the rain. Some people think, " I don't blame her. I wouldn't want to do that either." I don't really think that it is really that bad. Sure you are wet. Sure you are muddy. (Dirt and water=mud) Sure you stink. (ever lite a fire that is wet = smokey) I guess that if I was as insane as my mother ( having four kids) I would change my view on things. Now you may be thinking, "Why would you take four kids tent camping?" Well the answer is Grandpa's mot er home. She likes having the bathroom right there and a clean one for her is diffidently a incentive for her. She is okay sleeping in the tent. It can not be that uncomfortable that far off the ground. It is not like any rocks could reach that high. If you haven't figured it out already my mom and dad sleep on a double deck er queen size air mattress. My mom and dad have gone tent camping with my other cousins. That was an adventure. That was with all four of us and Uncle Curt, Aunt Becky, Brady (3) , and Chase (2). That was an adventure. We actually looked like the experienced one's. Anyway, back to the campground that we are going to this year. It is the same one as last year. The three older kids, me, Bethany, and Caleb love to go in the woods, explore, and build forts by ourselves. We have so much fun. We would go on a path and then took another path that is just wide enough for you to walk through. We do ride our bikes. For clarification we ride our bikes down. If you try riding back good luck. It is kind of strait up.( DON'T STOP READING. HERE COMES THE GOOD PARTS) You come to this one small creek or stream. Whatever you want to call it. We would pick up our bikes and walk through the stream. Keep riding and you will come to another stream. Just ride right through this one. It is somewhat deeper than the last ans well as wider. We would go as fast as we can so that we would not have to walk up the incline. Now you are here if you would like to call it that. Now I am going to back up or go forward depending on how you look at it. We wanted grandma to go on this next part. We really didn't think that she could or would ,but we just love to pick on here as well as show her what we have been doing all weekend. She said that she would and Matthew wanted to go. We didn't want to take him because we knew that he couldn't do it and that he would be really slow. In addition we didn't want the little kids finding out wear we were playing at. Dad said that we had to take him. He said that if grandma could do it so could he. We are thinking" Grandma can't do it!" Anyway, he had to come. So we went through all of these paths, crossed the streams and every thing. Grandma is saying how she can't believe we would go this far or do any of these things. I forgot to tell you that the "path" was covered with sticks , rocks and logs that you would have to stop, pick up your bikes and carry across it. Well, grandma and Matthew are still coming. We get to the top of the incline and say now is when the real fun starts. We are ridding up a slight angle and it just keeps getting stepper and stepper. Me and Caleb are still riding and everyone else is walking. We got to the grassy part where there is allot of sun. We just waited for the rest of them. They just looked down! We started and you are flying and then you have to do and extremely hard left to avoid hitting the tree and going off the path. You think that you are going to start going up, but you don't. You go down some more. then you start going up to the left. You are going so fast you don't need to petal for awhile. Don't look to your right because if you went of the path you would go down four feet and into the poison Ivie and sticker bushes. Now it really goes straight up. Now everyone is walking for awhile. Then it gets falter and you can ride again. Caleb and I asked if grandma wanted to go again. She says no thank you. Well, we decide that we are not going to let her know what path we turn right on to go back. We just keep ed riding. We got back to the top of the hill wear you just keep going down and grandma figured it out and decided she wanted to go right. we went to another lope and hit the rest rooms. She decides that she doesn't want to go on the path. So she was going to find her way back on the roads and we would go on the path. ( it was a race) We went left to avoid going straight down because it would faster. Of course we are Schrolls and are very competitive. We pedaled so fast. We just had to beat grandma. Well, Matthew, who we didn't want to bring along in the first place, ran into a tree! Well he is crying his eyes out. His hand are cut up , but nothing bad. Well, he won't walk because he is to upset. We just have to beat grandma so I put him on my back and pushed his and my bike. Well, he is still whimpering so we have to stop at the creek and wash his cuts out. Don't worry, no one got sick and it was very clean water. So I am carrying him and pushing two bikes strait up. O what fun! We are all trying to run because we just have to beat grandma. Well, Matthew finally got to heavy and I made him walk. I sill pushed his bike. We finally got to some what reasonable incline to ride up. We made it back to the camp site and Bethany asks if grandma is back. Uncle Eric and my dad answer with a no ,but in a fishy way. I just looked around and me and Caleb saw grandma's feet and bike tires on the other side of the camper. She decides to show her self and we decided it was time to expose her. She came around and we went to her. Uncle Eric and Dad said that she was here for awhile. We then told of our adventure including Matthew running into a tree. Anyway you should take this adventure in the woods. Be careful of the trees. They just jump right out at you. Well, I can't wait for this weekend to come. I am sure that I will have more story's to tell.-Laura

Pre season has begun

Last night was our first preseason official practice. We are all still living. No need to be concerned. Besides some cramps, a ache knee, a some what painful ankle, and me not breathing, nothing else is of importance. We had ten show up and all got along well and I think accomplished a lot for the first practice. I will hopefully have some pictures soon. -Laura

Survived

I survived the first week of school! Now to tackle all of the remaining. Everyone seemed to leave everyone else alone for the most part. That was good. Grandma and Grandpa are coming over to marrow to bring my dad's desk and hutch over from when he was younger so that Aly can use it for school. One week down a lot to go.-Laura

Last day of freedom

We enjoyed our last day of freedom. Matthew and I created our own Olympic games. When I say our own I mean our own. One of our creative games included a soccer net on top of trash cans and another one in front of it. We even had our own parade of nations with Kate carrying our country's flag. Alyson scrap booked and Kate did play dough. It was a good ending to our summer if it has to end at all.-Laura

Back from soccer camp

Friday night we came home from a fun filled week at BBC soccer camp. As much as I would to share even the smallest details I do not have that much patience for writing it and you would not have that much patience for reading it. Tori, Hannah,Ketuarh, Lindsay,Micheal, Dad, and I all went up together from our school. Some of the special highlights from our team was going to the underground together, having a pizza party, going to panera, getting water ice, and experiencing my first trip to the free standing krispe kream donut factory. Our s 11v11 team won the championship, Hannah was an all star, and tori won most in proved 9th grade . I never thought that I would see the day when Hannah would use two straws as chop sticks to spread butter on her bread. A lot of other things were fun and exciting ,but that is a good start.-Laura Schroll
